Small Cities Organized Risk Effort (SCORE) - A Joint Powers Authority
Claims Manual - Employers Guide
Mission Statement: Small Cities Organized Risk Effort (SCORE) is an association of municipalities joined together in 1986 to protect member resources by stabilizing risk costs in a reliable, economical and beneficial manner while providing members with broad coverage and quality services in risk management and claims management.
First formed in July of 1986, SCORE, a Joint Powers Authority, was created as a cooperative agreement between smaller rural Northern California cities to cost-effectively share risk. By pooling risk member cities can take advantage of group rates and obtain risk management expertise within the city’s budget. Over the years SCORE membership has expanded to include eighteen membership cities.
SCORE currently offers Liability, Property, Workers’ Compensation, Crime, Pollution and Employment Practices Liability coverage, an Employee Assistance Program, as well as training and loss prevention services.
In 2006 SCORE received their Accreditation with Excellence from California Association of Joint Powers Authorities (CAJPA). CAJPA sponsors the nation's first risk management accreditation program which establishes a model of professional standards and serves as a guideline for all risk management pools regardless of size, scope of operation, or membership structure. SCORE is proud to say that we have met the highest standard and maintained CAJPA’s Accreditation with Excellence - a title which is reserved for those Joint Powers Authorities who exceed the mandatory requirements for accreditation.?
