Yreka Creek Greenway
Overview
The Yreka Creek Greenway is a natural streamside area that will eventually span 4.5 miles along Yreka and Greenhorn Creeks. A major purpose of this greenway is to store and absorb floodwaters and maintain streamside habitat for native fish, native plants, native wildlife, and people who enjoy nature. As a unique part of Yreka's city park system, the Greenway is gradually expanding to provide recreation for families and tourists, including a streamside trail for walking and bicycling that will someday connect the entire City along Yreka and Greenhorn Creeks.
Existing improvements include a visitor center, an outdoor classroom, and streamside paved and natural trails with picnic areas and trailside benches.
