Dave Gamache Appointed City of Yreka Police Chief
Dave Gamache, who has been serving as interim Police Chief since the retirement of former Chief Brian Bowles, has been appointed to the permanent job of Police Chief.

Burn Permit suspension lifted in city limits effective October 7, 2019.
Effective October 7, 2019 burn permit suspension has been lifted within the City limits. Those possessing a current and valid residential burn permit from the city can burn on permissible burn days.

During fall and winter when burn suspensions are lifted, call (530) 842-8123 for burn days and burning requirements.
Homelessness Report Available
Due to the good precipitation over the winter Governor Brown has ended the drought State of Emergency in most of California. The City is now able to ease water restrictions. Voluntary conservation measures are in place, along with State mandated prohibitions that discourage water waste. Follow the link below to learn more:
