Activities
Yreka and the surrounding area have an event for every season in a range of activities. Often held on a monthly or yearly basis, these events are looked forward to by visitors and citizens of Yreka the whole year through. Some of the highlights include:
- January: The Yreka Elks Lodge #1980 Annual Crab Feed Dinner
- February: Hearts of the Miners Dinner Dance sponsored by YHS Miner Power, and the Fireman's Ball benefiting the Yreka Volunteer Fire Department
- March: Yreka Lions Pancake Breakfast, Yreka Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Dinner, and the Sportsmen's Expo at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds, Madrone Hospice Art Auction, Soroptomist Italian Dinner Dance
- April: Siskiyou Motor Speedway
- May: Etna Pleasure Park Rodeo, Home Show, Siskiyou Motor Speedway, Klamath National Forest Wildflower Show, Montague Junior Rodeo, and the Centurion Bike Race

Monthly
Yreka Chamber of Commerce Mixers
Meeting every 2nd Thursday of the month, the Chamber Mixers are held at different businesses around town from 5-7 PM. Refreshments and drinks are provided at these monthly events to provide a place for communication and networking between local area businesses and people.
April through September
Scott Valley Bank Summer Concert Series
The Summer Concert Series, sponsored by Scott Valley Bank and other local organizations, hold concerts in the park almost every Friday night during the summer. The series has taken place for over a dozen years and has featured local bands such as the Lucky Duck Blues Band and Gimme Shelter, Tapwater featuring Yreka-born drummer Rudy Slizewski, Tempest, a Celtic Rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area, and King Cotton with Dixieland Jazz from Athens, Georgia. Siskiyou Motor Speedway
The Siskiyou Motor Speedway races at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds starting in April with day races and ending in September with the Mountain Modified Challenges. Running almost every Saturday night through the spring and summer, the races include Dwarfs, Mini Stocks, Super Stocks, Pro Stocks & Modifieds. Other race highlights include Ladies' Night and Gentlemen's Night at the Races, Run-What-U-Brung and Powderpuff Races. For more information visit the Siskiyou Golden Fair.
September - October
“Taste of Home” Food Show
Sponsored by the Siskiyou Daily News and Reader's Digest, "Taste of Home" is a cooking show that takes place throughout the nation, coming to Yreka annually in September or October. The event is held at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds and has attendance records of up to 500 people from all over Northern California and Southern Oregon. Before the ten-recipe cooking demonstration, a growing number of vendors have their wares on display. The evening rounds out with over 70 prizes donated from Raley's, Black's and other local businesses.
June
Yreka Gold Rush Days
Held every year on the first day of summer, Yreka Gold Rush Days is a huge street fair in celebration of the City of Yreka's birthday and the beginning of summer. Merchants, vendors, music and food are all on display throughout the day. Yreka Gold Rush Days even re-enacts the famous fights of the Old West with street theater gun fights by the Cowboy Action Shooters. Perfect for all ages!
July
4th of July Fireworks
The Chamber of Commerce and local area businesses sponsor the 4th of July fireworks display at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds which can be seen throughout Yreka.
August
Siskiyou Golden Fair
The County's Siskiyou Golden Fair is held annually at the beginning of August for five consecutive hot summer days. The Siskiyou Golden Fair has everything you would hope for: carnival rides and games, vendors and booths, art and flower galleries, lots of food, live music and acts on multiple stages throughout the day, livestock showings and auctions, a talent show, concerts, rodeos and destruction derby. September
Septemberfest
Local downtown merchants and the Yreka Chamber of Commerce come together for the year's biggest sidewalk sale event. Septemberfest started in 2007 and has been going strong ever since, with vendors, food, music and crafts for the whole family.
October
Oktober Harvest Festival
Brand new in 2008 at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds, the Oktober Harvest Festival has events for all ages. Throughout the day, a petting zoo and Ag-adventures area is set up for the kids. Local area vendors have merchandise and food for sale while music and pumpkin painting are also readily available. A beer sampling tent will be a main attraction during the day and night while the event hosts professional bull riding in the evening! November
Annual Holiday Parade
The Annual Holiday Parade is the beginning of the holiday season with the whole community involved. Traditionally, the parade begins at 10 AM on the Saturday morning following Thanksgiving and features entries ranging from the City's Fire and Police Departments, decorated Model A's and hot rods, the high school and junior high marching bands, day-care centers, community organizations and businesses and, of course, a visit from Mr. & Mrs. Claus. The parade begins at Jackson St. School on S. Oregon St and follows S. Oregon St., W. Miner St. and S. Broadway St.
December
Night of Lights
On the first Saturday of December, the Yreka Chamber of Commerce and Madrone Hospice continue to bring in the holiday cheer with "light." Yreka's Night of Lights and Madrone Hospice's Light up a Life & Light up Yreka events are held downtown with all the businesses and streets lit up. Caroling, music, food and drinks warm the community on this chilly winter's evening.
