The City of Yreka is an equal opportunity employer. We consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status. Proof of citizenship or immigration status will be required upon employment.
Employment opportunities for the City of Yreka are overseen by the Administration and Finance departments at City Hall. Our goal is to attract motivated and skilled employees with competitive salaries and wages and a comprehensive benefit package. However, due to the small size of our city and staff, permanent positions are not commonly available. On the other hand, seasonal and temporary positions may be available in the summer or winter months.
Applications are only accepted by mail when there is an open position, at which time applications are collected and an interview schedule set for the most qualified applicants. The interview process includes the administration, department head and hiring manager. Our goal is to eliminate any hiring bias and find the most qualified candidate for the position.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free program for employees and family members. It offers confidential assistance with the management of life stresses, challenges and quality of life.
