HEADS UP: Moffett Creek and Yreka Creek AR Chip Seal Project on State Route 3 in Siskiyou County planned to start June 16.
The project will place an asphalt rubber chip seal, replace asphalt concrete surfacing (via dig-outs), and restripe the highway at two locations:
• In and near Yreka, from 0.3 miles south of Moonlit Oaks Avenue to approximately 2.5 miles north of Kinkler Road.
• From approximately 0.2 miles south of Oak View Lane to just south of Peach Orchard Road.
Construction work is anticipated to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16, on the north end of the project. Roadway dig-out work is planned first, followed by chip seal and striping operations. Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control with up to 25-minute delays, Monday through Friday during daytime hours. Motorists are reminded to allot extra time for travel and urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas. A 10 MPH speed limit reduction will be in effect 24/7 at both locations. The project is currently anticipated to be completed by late-July.
